The darkly captivating AMC show Breaking Bad and its spinoff Better Call Saul are back with a bang, and it’s no surprise that Albuquerque, where the shows were filmed, is making a killing off the influx of fans flocking to the sleepy New Mexico city. From a real-life version of the fictional Los Pollos Hermanos to a hot dog spot that was one of Breaking Bad’s filming locations, here are some notable places you should visit.
Jesse Pinkman is not your typical television character, but the man who strangled psychopath Todd and avenged the deaths of Drew Sharp and Andrea deserves a happy ending. In the series finale of Breaking Bad, Jesse snags a ride out of town in Todd’s El Camino. While the follow-up movie El Camino details the many hurdles that Jesse still has to clear to truly be free, this moment in the series is a satisfying one for fans of the show.
Although this location on the map may look like a shady motel, it’s actually an iconic eatery known as The Dog House. The restaurant, which features a long image of a dachshund on its sign, has been around for 50 years. The no-nonsense spot serves footlong chili cheese dogs, and it was featured in both Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul. KOAT reports that the restaurant is open for lunch and dinner Monday through Saturday. You can even order a Breaking Bad-themed beer, a Walter White Lie white IPA or Heisenberg’s Dark black IPA.
