Dog House Deli Revamps Downtown Menu

Dog House Deli has been a Pensacola staple since 1977. Owner Jim Holler brought an unassuming little hot dog restaurant to 30 Palafox Place looking for a way back to his Gulf Coast roots, and he ended up building a family, countless friendships and a piece of downtown history all around that dream location.

As the family prepares to reopen their doors Thursday, they are still proud of the menu items that made them famous, but they also want to introduce some new flavors. The burgers are a prime example. They now feature a smoked bacon blend. They also added a fried shrimp po’ boy to the mix, served on king’s Hawaiian bread.

The restaurant’s other big addition is a cocktail program. Nathan Holler wanted to take the same creative approach that he and his team bring to the food menu, so they have introduced a beverage menu that features both classic cocktails and unique ones, including an Orange-Peach Martini and a Fruity Pebbles Margarita.
