Doghouse is a horror-comedy about a group of blokes who are on a road trip to cheer up a recently divorced mate. While they are away, they stumble upon a town of women. But when the local women turn into flesh-eating zombies, the guys are forced to battle their way to survival.
The doghouse movie is a good ol’ British comedy-horror film. It is a remake of LVK, and it stars Stephen Graham and Danny Dyer. There is a lot to like about the film, but it’s also an exercise in juvenile ineptitude.
The movie isn’t exactly original, but it does a nice job of spicing up the usual genre with a touch of misogyny. A government-sponsored experiment turns the females of the town into cannibals.
There are also some nice gore effects, and the film is a fun ride. But it’s a pretty short film, and it doesn’t have much to offer after the first few minutes.
The movie is full of little jokes that don’t make too much sense. For example, the “zombie bride” is actually a cut up wedding dress. Another joke is that the dog that barks is a real dog.
However, the movie’s best joke is the one about the zombies and the cake. You can see the movie online, or rent it from Amazon. This is a quick cash-in that is aimed at teenage boys.
There are also other notable features, such as a cannibalism-themed cake and an airborne toxin that turns women into cannibals. In the end, the movie is a forgettable experience.
