Dog House Jumbo
Give your pet a safe place to rest with a large dog house. This jumbo-sized pet house comes with an easy-lift roof for cleaning, and it’s made of naturally pest-resistant, solid fir. It also features a raised floor that allows for superior ventilation, and a door flap for easy access.
Materials
The most common material for dog houses is wood, but plastic is a great option too. It’s less expensive and is a lot easier to clean than wood. However, if your main goal is to keep your pet warm, you should choose wood over plastic because it’s a better insulator.
Construction
To build a dog house, you’ll need to buy wood and assemble the frame. This will take some time and patience, but it’s worth the effort to make sure that your pet has a place to rest that is comfortable and protected from rain.
Pre-measure your plywood and cut it to the size of the dog house. Then, use 1-inch (2.5 cm) nails to attach the plywood to each of the long sides of the dog house. If you used extra support 2x4s, use 3 nails to attach the plywood to them as well.
Next, draw each face of the dog house, including the roof. Make sure all sides have a measured value and label them. Then, complete the frame by securing all the pieces together with screws and nails. It’s important to do this carefully, and slowly, so that you don’t accidentally break the pieces.
