The Urban Dictionary was founded in 2002 by Christine Ammer. The website focuses on urban culture and its language. A lot of words in the dictionary come from the American English language, and some of them are ad-hoc neologisms. For example, “greyish marl” means a greyish-marl-colored house. The definition of “dog house” is often a slang term that refers to a dog’s place of origin.
