A doghouse is a structure used to protect a dog from the elements, such as rain, sleet or snow. These structures were used by dogs and wolves when they had to be kept indoors. The doghouse was more useful in cold climates because it gave protection from wind and cold. It also made it easier for dogs to clean up and mark their territory. A doghouse can be constructed from wood, metal, fiberglass, stone, plastic or natural materials. It should have a groundsheet, a roof, side walls and sides. A side wall protects the dog from weather elements like snow, sleet or rain. A side wall should not be a roof because then your dog will be unable to get out of the doghouse.
